Ever had to assign the correct oxidation for each atom in a given chemical compound but didn't want to do the math by hand? This Redox Calculator application is here to save the day, balancing the oxidation states of compounds with up to three elements. In the sample formula: CaCl2, there is one calcium and two chlorides, written as Ca1Cl2 (not case sensitive) in the Redox Calculator. Chemical formulas you see written down on paper usually do not have a subscript after many elements. (ex: CaCl2 does not have a subscript after Ca) Elements without subscripts after them on paper will require a "1" after them when using this app. Once a chemical formula is typed in, press the balance button and the correct oxidation states for each individual atom will come up, if the formula is balance-able.
